About SepticCompare
Our Mission
SepticCompare was built to bring transparency to the septic services industry. Finding a reliable septic company shouldn't mean calling around for hours or wondering if you're being overcharged. We make it easy to compare licensed professionals based on verified reviews, published pricing, and services offered.
How We Collect Data
Every company listed on SepticCompare has been verified through Google Maps business data. We cross-reference company websites to extract pricing, services, system types handled, and service areas. Our data is updated regularly to ensure accuracy.
Our pricing data is sourced directly from company websites and assigned a confidence score based on how clearly prices are published. This approach ensures that the pricing you see on SepticCompare reflects what companies actually advertise, not estimates or guesses.
For a detailed look at our methodology, see our How We Rank page.
Price Transparency
One of our core values is pricing transparency. We collect and display published pricing from company websites so homeowners can compare costs before calling. Where pricing isn't available, we make it easy to request free quotes directly through our platform.
Data Sources
Our cost guides and educational content reference authoritative sources including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), state health departments, and state environmental agencies. We cite specific regulations and guidelines from the NC DHHS, SC DHEC, Kentucky Division of Water, and Maine DEP to ensure our content is accurate and relevant to each state we cover.
Coverage
We currently cover septic companies in North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Maine, with plans to expand to all 50 states. Our directory includes over 5,520 companies and growing.
